Hungarian Childhood Vaccination Schedule
Vaccinations listed under the link above are required in Hungary, however, in most cases following your home countries vaccination schedule will be accepted by hospitals and schools in Hungary if you are here temporarily. These vaccinations are free of charge for all children residing in Hungary if you follow the Hungarian schedule and receive the vaccinations at the appropriate time. If you are working with a védőnő she will arrange for these vaccinations to be available at your local doctors office at the appropriate times and inform you when you can get them. If you do not use a védönö your local pediatrician can order the vaccinations for you.
Other vaccinations are not required in Hungary but are available such as: Varicella (Chicken Pox), MenC (Meningococcal meningitis C), HPV (Human papilloma virus), Rota Virus, Flu, TBE (Tick Borne Encephalitis), Hepatitis A etc . These vaccines are not free of charge. To receive these vaccinations you need to get a doctors prescription to pick them up at a pharmacy and then take them to the pediatrician to administer them.
