Selective waste collection and recycling is practiced in Hungary, however it is not as common as in some other European countries.
When collecting waste selective, make sure you follow selective color patterns:
yellow marks plastic,
white marks transparent glass,
green marks green or brown glass,
blue marks paper.
There are fifteen selective waste islands in Pápa, where residents can take their waste and manage it respectively. On these islands paper, glass, and plastic are collected in different containers. Each container has a different color,
Waste trucks do not collect waste placed in the wrong containers. Make sure you do not place your waste next to the container. If it is full, look for another island.
Junkyards have personnel and opening hours. The staff of the junkyard helps you categorize your domestic waste and takes hazardous domestic waste over from you for waste management.
