HUN Decree issued 16 March 2020, EFFECTIVE 17 March 2020

  1. Hungarian borders are closed, entry is not permitted except for Hungarian citizens and EEA citizens holding a permanent residency permit in Hungary. Anyone allowed to enter the country, coming from Italy, China, South Korea, Iran or Israel with no flu symptoms will be home-quarantined by the authorities for 14 days. As of today, no quarantine will be ordered for people entering from any other countries.
  2. Restaurants, cafes, bars are allowed to be open from 6 AM to 3 PM. After 3 PM only employees are allowed to be inside. If you have an order to be served, you are allowed to enter for the time you take your order in a box and pay.
  3. Party events, clubbing, social gatherings are banned regardless of the number of attendees.
  4. Party, social, and club venues are forbidden to be visited.
  5. Religious masses, weddings, funerals are allowed.
  6. Sports events, if held, are to be held behind closed gates, without spectators.
  7. Theatres, movie theatres, museums, libraries, and cultural centres are closed.
  8. All stores will be closed between 3PM and 6AM, EXCEPT grocery stores, drug stores (DM, Rossmann, etc.), pharmacies, medical shops, gas stations, tobacco stores. Being present in restricted stores during restricted hours constitutes a misdemeanour. Such behaviour is a fineable offense of 5000-500.000 HUF.
  9. You are obliged to provide any data upon request, when requested by the police regarding disease control.
