A new decree has been published.
The definition of what you can cover your nose and mouth with has been modified – scarves are not allowed anymore, it has to be a surgical mask, a cloth mask, or a mask made of any other material.
Masks must be worn in the following cases:
– in malls, stores, shops, all service providers
– in restaurants at all times except for while sitting at the table
– indoor and outdoor events (can be removed while drinking and eating)
Fines for not wearing a mask have been made stricter – they are now between 100 000 HUF and 1 000 000 HUF, shops, stores, restaurants, etc. may be closed for a minimum of 1 day and a maximum of 1 year if the managers/owners don’t make sure that all customers are adhering to the rules.
The measures on border control have been extended with the exact same terms as in this post until the 1st of December.
The only change is an administrative one, namely that the health authority doesn’t need to issue official quarantine orders for people entering Hungary anymore, the 10-day quarantine takes effect based on the law at the time of entering once the individual receives the red sticker at the border control.
If the person entering the country, who has received a red sticer, has a device for it, they must download the tracking app developed by the government, this way the police won’t have to check on them at home. All of the terms are shared at the time of crossing the border.
