Spring is definitely here, and warmer weather is on the near horizon! Did you know that barely an hour drive from Papa is a wonderful warm-weather activity on the lake: Stand-Up Paddleboarding (commonly referred to as SUPping).

SUPping is a sport that has grown in popularity in recent years. The water activity requires a paddle and a special type of board that resembles a surfboard (but is usually somewhat larger). Once you learn how to stand up on the board and paddle effectively, you can slowly make your way anywhere on Balaton. It’s a relaxing sport – you can always take a break and jump in the water or just sit or lay down on your board in the sun!

The SUP center on Balaton is located on the Tihany peninsula, right next to Club Tihany. They offer SUP lessons, weekly SUP Yoga classes starting May 13 (don’t worry, the boards are anchored for this fun exercise!) and occasional SUP tours of Balaton.
